SG photographers take to the global virtual stage at VIP Art Fair

You’re probably unaware that right now as we speak, the world’s very first online-only art fair, VIP Photo, is well underway. Running until the 12th of August, the fair seeks to engage we, the people, with modern and contemporary photography, and inspire us to embrace the way ‘the lens has changed the way we see the world around us’.

Ironically, though it’s name might imply otherwise; what is so great about this fair, apart from the fact it is accessible anytime, anywhere, is that it shirks the exclusivity favoured by traditional art fairs by empowering artists, galleries, art lovers, collectors and enthusiasts everywhere, to connect on their own terms and in their own time.

But this isn’t all about the international, because Singapore will be representing. Oh yes. Photographic works by critically acclaimed local artists like Genevieve Chua, Michael Lee, Mintio, Jason Wee and Renhui Zhao will be banging the drum for Singapore loud and proud, thanks to local gallery Tolla Duke Contemporary.

Explore Genevieve Chua’s preoccupation with fear of the unknown to stunning visual effect…

All this without having to do anything apart from click on your mouse a few times. What more could an art aficionado ask for in terms of armchair pleasure? Not only do you get to see our local artists on an international platform without having to move anywhere, but in just a few clicks, you’re transported into a world of stunning and thought-provoking imagery. So get comfy, put your feet up and get ready to be immersed in a journey of discovery of artists and exhibitors, and if you so fancy it, be your own curator of a world of art by putting your own collections together. All that is left, is to fill in this gap with your name: introducing _, curator of the world’s art collection!

VIP Art Fair runs until 12th August 2012 at http://photo.vipartfair.com. For more information on Tolla Duke Contemporary see here.
