Now I know, that there are women out there who have incredible wardrobes and unlimited budgets. For whom having the latest ‘it’ bag is an absolute necessity, soon to be replaced by the next must-have. And although I feel a little envious…I say, fair play to them! We all have a vice and if you have the cash to splash on yours, then you go girl (snaps fingers in ghetto fashion to prove her point)!
But for us mere mortals who leaf through fashion magazines and stroke the pages covetously, having a designer item whether it be an Alexander Wang handbag, a Hermes bracelet, a pair of Louboutins or a Jason Wu dress is a big deal; a significant spend; and not something done lightly. So when I heard about StyleTribute, a site to “sell & buy pre-loved curated luxury and designer fashion…. to connect high-end fashion lovers, enabling them to sell in a hassle-free way or to buy in all trust high-quality, designer items, without the luxury price tags.”…Let’s just say I was a mite curious.
StyleTribute is effectively a market place for pre-loved luxury items, where those that have can sell, and those that want, can purchase. But rather than leave it up to the users, because then, there is ambiguity regarding authenticity and quality, StyleTribute are the experts you can trust. They have selected the goods for their inherent style, inspected them thoroughly and in some cases turned them away if not of a high enough quality, or too much wear and tear, or eeeeek an undercover fake! They’ve checked for authenticity, given their thumbs up and seal of approval and therefore everything on the site is a genuine designer bargain.
And oh….what bargains! Brands they have held so far include Lanvin, Balenciaga, Chanel, Chloe, Dior, MqQueen, the list goes on; and unlike some other online stores which claim huge discounts but in actual fact, a quick look on Net a Porter will reveal that even with with shipping costs, you can find it much cheaper (what’s that about Singapore?). On StyleTribute you can find some real treasures, I know because I bought one, and am dithering over a second…because it’s just SO TEMPTING!
These days, rare are those who wear just Gucci or Zara from head to toe. Shoppers are more educated, savvy and are increasingly more style conscience, sophisticated in their personal style. StyleTribute seems like a genius way to have instant style, but on a temporary and flexible basis. Once you grow bored of a piece…simply return to StyleTribute and provided it’s in the same excellent condition as you bought it, they can resell it for you.
For sellers, StyleTribute offer the easiest way to pass on your pre-loved, cherished items. Using their all-inclusive ‘white glove’ service, they will pick up your goods, photograph them, deal with the transaction (I mean, as if you have time for that? you’ve got shopping to do right?!) and then send you a nice cheque.
A quick chat with Stephanie Crespin, the founder of StyleTribute reveals, “StyleTribute aspires to be much more than just a fashion boutique where customers can find amazing pieces. Aiming to become the style expert our clients turn to for advice, we are highly motivated to build lasting relationships with our customers that go beyond just the fashion commercialization. This philosophy transpires in the way we treat and build relations with our clients. We place great importance on having a long-term and personal relationship with them, going in person to their houses for every collection and sale.”
And yes, I can vouch, she turned up at my place looking all glam with my purchase in hand. Nice touch (I just wish I hadn’t been wearing my dog-walking outfit!).
Their upcoming event best incorporates this ‘lifestyle’ philosophy and they have partnered up with Fragrance du Bois, Blow + Bar, The Blackmarket, By Invite Only, L’Kos, and Luxola for an all-inclusive and well-rounded pop-up….you can find out more about it here.
If you are looking for a glam look, they will be suggesting a long Armani dress and the Oud Rouge parfume to go with it. If you are looking to rock your weekend look, they’ll be suggesting a DVF leopard dress to go with hand-made jewellery by By Invite Only and bracelets from L’kos. And if you’re looking for a new edgy look to go with your new acquired Givenchy bag bought on StyleTribute they’ll be booking you a fab new hair cut at Blow + Bar!
Ultimately, StyleTribute is the solution to every fashionista’s overspending woes. Whether you dream of Dior, or you’re languishing in Chanel, now you can share the love!
