Singapore greets November with new gastronomic adventures at our favourite haunts. Explore new menus promising worlds of flavour at Da Paolo Dempsey Restaurant & Bar and Amoy Street’s Birds of a Feather while the ladies enjoy a well-deserved night out at Xperience Restaurant. Craving comfort food? Take in Singapore’s skyline while dining on hawker delicacies.
Sichuan Meets Contemporary Western At Birds of a Feather
Sichuan cuisine has more to offer than mala and Birds of a Feather’s first tasting menu (S$89++) seeks to redefine it. Crafted by Chef Eugene See, it features an amalgamation of robust Sichuan flavours and refined French techniques. The Octopus Carpaccio is a multi-sensorial delicacy with assertive flavour profiles that rival the ‘Yu Xiang’ Carabinero Prawn’s harmony between the spicy-sweet and sour sauce and tender crustacean. Gentler flavours find a home in the Sichaun Fish Stew, a modern take on comfort food, and the refreshingly innovative version of the French baba cake, Mandarin.
Birds of a Feather is located at 115 Amoy Street, #01-01, Singapore 069936, p. +65 6221 7449 / 9755 7115. Open Mon-Weds 10.45am-3pm, 5pm-11pm, Thurs 10.45am-3pm, 5pm-12am, Fri-Sat 10.30am-12am, Sun 10.30am-10pm.
