If it were up to us, romantic evenings should be an everyday thing. But against our better judgements, we still like the idea of Valentine’s Day…even if it’s just an occasion to get starry-eyed and indulge your partners. And the whispers of sweet nothings, overpriced flowers, and declarations of love aren’t quite complete without the luxury of a delicious meal – even more so when there’s wine flowing. For a truly unforgettable evening, here are 10 of Singapore’s most romantic Valentine’s dinners this year.
Monti
San Valentino takes on Italian vibes and spectacular views at the atmospheric Monti with five exquisite courses to tantalise your palate. Flanked on all sides by Marina Bay, start with a beautiful Bouquet of prawns on greens and the homemade cured Salmone served with Tropea onions and herb butter. Panoramic views of the South China Sea, check. Tranquil ambience far from the city, check. For something comforting, Jamie’s Italian is putting up a hearty all-Italian feast for Valentine’s Day. Start with a stunning Antipasti Plank to share, laden the finest cold cuts and cheeses, chargrilled vegetables and roasted pumpkin crostini. There are four choices for main courses – including a beautiful 450g Double Tenderloin for two grilled to your liking and Yellow Fin Tuna Steak with courgettes and buffalo ricotta – and a decadent trio of desserts. look forward to gooey Italian Chocolate & Amaretto Torte to a Strawberry Rippled Shortcake with lashes of fresh vanilla cream. Equinox
Another sky-high dining experience can be found on the 70th floor of Swissotel The Stamford. Choose from either a six- or five-course dinner (the latter being more premium) and enjoy fresh Yellowtail Sashimi with beetroot and nastrum, Grilled Oyster Mushroom with Artichoke Macaroon, and Seared Foie Gras in Oxtail Consommé. Alternatively, go for the extravagant Seafood Grand Plateau of whole lobster, crab, oysters, prawns, venus clams, and tuna tartare in lieu of the first two courses. For a sweet finish, dig into an Elderflower Jelly with Peach Ice and the pretty Ivory Champagne Mousse topped with rose sorbet.
