This week, one of our favourite Southern American BBQ joints pops up in Little India, look forward to two new happy hours on Amoy Street, and eat your way through a showcase of the restaurants in our waterfront heritage neighbourhood.

Following the departure of Cocotte Head Chef Anthony Yeoh, the team at Meat Smith has temporarily taken over the space with a three-month pop-up! Dishing out Southern American BBQ with an Indian flair, you can look forward to scrumptious starters such as the beef brisket Marsala Samosa ($14) and Onion Bajji ($6) with a delectable smoked yoghurt, and larger plates like Kingfish Collar with Coconut Sambal ($18) on charcoal-grilled eggplant, and perfectly executed Madras Pork Ribs ($26). We’ll miss the rustic French cuisine at Cocotte, but this is pretty good for now.

Flavours of The Fullerton Heritage Returns

Back for its fifth instalment this weekend, Flavours of The Fullerton Heritage showcases the gourmet offerings of landmark venues in the The Fullerton Heritage precinct. Priced at $35++ per person for lunch and $58++ for dinner, diners can look forward to specially curated meals like a three-course set menu with half a Peking Duck at Jade (The Fullerton Hotel), a three-course wine pairing dinner at La Brasserie (The Fullerton Bay Hotel), and a six-course set lunch at Yamazaki (One Fullerton).

Keyaki Refreshes Weekend Brunch Offerings

For an alternative weekend brunch, go Japanese with Keyaki’s kaiseki-style, customisable eight-course brunch with free-flowing Laurent Perrier Brut, sparkling sake, sparkling shochu, and more spirited selections. Priced at $135++ per person ($75++ for the non-alcoholic option), the menu features old favourites like the Seared Beef with Ponzu Sauce, as well as twenty new creations by Chef Hiroshi Ishii such as the Grilled Eggplant with Sweet Miso, and Yanagawa Style Simmered Beef and Vegetables.

These sibling restaurants on Amoy Street have rustled up a couple of new deals on the booze for your after-work pleasure. At $50 per person, eclectic fusion Asian diner Ding Dong is blessing the ladies with free-flow pink prosecco and a plate of carbon-battered prawns every Wednesday, 8pm-11pm. Next door at boCHINche, aperitivo hour starts at 5pm (till 7.30pm) on weekdays with cocktails at $15++, Estrella beer buckets at $49++, and two empanadas with a pint of Estrella at $18++. When the weekend swings around, look forward to an extra bubbly brunch at boCHINche with free flow sparkling Torrontés at $55++ per person.

Kilo Cooking Beats 2017 Launched

The folks at Kilo have finally brought back their popular Cooking Beats series this month, 23 February 2017, with the theme Raices (‘roots’ in Spanish). Kicking things off are none other than the Kilo founders, Javier Perez and Joshua Adjodha, themselves! Priced at $75++ per person, the hearty seven-course feast whipped up by the pair will showcase their Puerto Rican heritage.
