Manhattan Launches Chelsea & Central Park Districts

Met Room
Met Room

Cocktail lovers will be glad of any excuse to head back to Manhattan, especially if the pretext is the launch of two new districts on the food and bar bites menu. Try the Met Room ($23, cognac, sloe gin, curacao, hibiscus syrup, and champagne) for something sweet and sparkling while those who prefer spirit-forward and smoky will enjoy the Flat Iron ($29) with Lagavulin 16. Feeling peckish? The Barbecued Pulled Pork ($21) and Charred Jerk Octopus ($22) get our votes. For more details, see the full review here.

Manhattan is located at Level 2, Regent Singapore, 1 Cuscaden Road, Singapore 249715, p. +65 6725 3377. Open 5pm-1am daily.

Go Venison at Kaiserhaus

venison-steak

Growing up in a Chinese family means I’ve had countless portions of sizzling black pepper venison on a hot plate at zi char stalls across Singapore. But from now till 23 November 2016, Kaiserhaus’ Executive Chef Hans Lüttenegger is paying tribute to Europe’s traditional hunting season with venison served up in three vastly different ways. Sourced with sustainable free-ranging farms in Europe, there’s the home-cured Venison Carpaccio ($25), the Wildragout ($32), a stew of braised deer shoulder with bread dumplings and red cabbage in a rich gravy, and Venison Steak ($42) wrapped in bacon and served with Schupfnudel (a kind of dumping in southern German and Austrian cuisine).

Kaiserhaus is located at Capitol Piazza, #02-06 & #03-06, 17 Stamford Road, Singapore 178907, p. +65 6377 0013. Open Sun-Thu 10.30am-11pm, Fri-Sat 10.30am-12am.
