Summer is pretty much in full swing, and doesn’t that make you want to kick back a little? This week, check out new local fashion at the Hive or head to Kult Kafe for the first anniversary of Silent Disco. For a bit of fresh air, the Singapore Botanic Garden is hosting Opera in the Park and you’ll find your dose of vitamin sea with Lo & Behold’s Smack my Beach up. End your week on a good note – for a good cause as well – at Kampong’s anti-deforestation-themed pool party.
Runway: Catwalk & Market Bazaar
A celebration of fashion’s newest movers and shakers, come and support these 11 amazing local designers and their innovative works that range from gender neutral, swimwear, lingerie, and modest-wear. Step back to enjoy the killer view of our nation’s skyline, or zoom in on the intricate details that the designers have hemmed into place. After the show, be sure to check out the market bazaar, where you will be able to purchase your favourite pieces from the show and meet their creators.

Silent Disco Asia’s 1st Birthday

Opera in the Park
Keep your fingers crossed for perfect weather come the 17th, as the Singapore Lyric Opera is set to give yet another show stopping performance under the stars. Come with a picnic basket and get comfortable as they serenade your Saturday night away with classical favourites such asRossini’s La Gazzetta, O lusinghiero amor, Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Voi che sapete, and Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi, O Mio Babbino Caro.

Smack My Beach Up with Elli Arakawa
Say goodbye to adulting pains forever, at least for the day, at yet another Lo & Behold Group Festival installation. Expect nothing but tons of sun and plenty of beautiful people. Grab your friends and set up camp as the talented British-Japanese DJ and producer Elli Arakawa entrances you with her deep house & disco tracks. Wanna look the part? Floral head wreaths will be available at The Beach Shop if you feel the need to unleash that inner flower child.

Kampong Pool Party: The Palm Oil Around Us
What better excuse is there to party, than for a good cause? Come on down to Owl Bar for a pool party planned by the folks at Kampong. In collaboration with the People’s Movement to Stop Haze, the party will be a platform for us to reflect on specific environmental and social issues, such as the palm oil industry and deforestation in South East Asia. Party wise, there will be affordably priced drinks and fresh BBQ, as well as a line up of DJs that are sure to get you moving.
