5 Things to Do This Week In Singapore: 1st to 7th February 2016

It’s a month of endings and new beginnings as the The Substation’s iconic ‘First Take’ series sees its final edition. Incidentally, comedian Kevin Hart takes on the Singapore stage for the first time. As you approach the end of the work week, have a drink with acclaimed mixologist Tim Judge before partying the weekend away in tribute to Bob Marley, and at Velvet Underground with groundbreaking local producer MYRNE.
The Substation Presents: First Take
One of The Substation’s most distinctive programs is back for their last edition (at least for the near future). A showcase of the newest and most promising short films by upcoming Singapore-based film directors, First Take is where you’ll discover the young directors to watch out for. The February 2016 edition features 6 shorts films by Mark Chua, Alistair Quak, Vivan Koh, Nicole Quek, Harshini, and José Nieuwstad, who will also participate in a Q&A following the screening.
First Take is happening on Monday, 1 February at The Substation from 8pm to 10pm. Admission is free with donation. For more details, check out the event page here.
Kevin Hart – What Now? Tour 2016
One of the biggest stars in stand-up comedy, Kevin Hart, will be performing live in Singapore for the very first time this Tuesday, bringing his WHAT NOW? Tour to Suntec City. Not sure where you’ve seen him before? His recent movie projects include The Wedding Ringer and Get Hard, opposite Will Farrell. Here’s your chance to expierence this funny man’s unique brand of humour in the flesh.
Kevin Hart – What Now? Tour is happening on Tuesday, 2 February 2016 at Suntec Convention Centre Hall 601-604. Tickets are priced at S$98, S$128, S$148, S$168, S$188 (all seated) and are available from SISTIC.
Tim Judge At The Flagship
Acclaimed mixologist Tim Judge is coming down this weekend! Rated by Ardent Spirits (the top global cocktail authority) as one of the world’s best bartenders, Tim has a stellar reputation that includes the launch of the Diageo Bar Academy, the first programme of its kind anywhere in the world. His cocktail recipes have also been published in numerous international books such as The Bartenders Annual Manual and La Guida.
