Blanjong Temple

Blanjong Temple is a must-visit for history buffs! Home to the oldest artifact in Bali, the pillar housed at this temple dates back to around 914 AD. This ancient pillar has inscriptions in Old Balinese and Sanskrit. It describes the military campaign of Javanese King Sri Kesari Warmadewa that is credited with establishing the first formal government. Blanjong is located in the southern area of Sanur. It is recommended to dress respectfully to avoid disapproving stares!
