CHOO YILIN HOSTS ARTISANAL ‘TYING THE KNOT’ WORKSHOP

On 1 and 2 November 2014 from 1230 pm to 6 pm, heritage
designer jeweller Choo Yilin will host a two-day artisanal bridal workshop at its Joo Chiat
conservation shophouse. A curated gathering of artisans in the wedding space will conduct
interactive workshops in their respective fields in a one-of-a-kind educational and inspiring
afternoon.

Said founder Choo Yilin, ‘We had recently launched our first line of bridal jewellery that
reflects the brand DNA of heritage, conservation and artisanship. We realised that there did
not seem to be a bridal-related event that seemed to cater to these values specifically. Equally,
we realised that there was a small but growing community of wedding artisans and stylists
who shared the same brand DNA of celebrating artisanship and thus, this event was created.’

The event costs S$15 per per person or S$25 per couple, and there will be workshops spread
over the two days educating the attendees in a myriad of wedding-related topics. The topics
include ideas on how wedding photography can be of significant value to you, your partner
and your loved ones. Attendees can participate in a live demonstration on how Kelvin Koh
from Lightedpixels Photography shoots and a discussion on what you can expect from wedding photography today. Known for their tasteful and subtly whimsical floral design and
styling, Wonderland for Detailed Planners will be treating their guests to a flower bar.

Featuring a variety of florals including roses, mattiolas, and eustomas, attendees will walk
away with a greater understanding of their services, insight into the elements that go into
creating a personal and unique wedding, and a posie! The artisans will also be on hand to
share their craft with the guests – Joan Chien from Missus Bonbon will be offering her
signature desserts in the form of a dessert table and Clarence Valerius Wee from Craftvaries
will be doing life demonstrations of his calligraphy skills. Shopping for your wedding can be
an arduous task. From choosing the right design and colours for your trousseau, shopping can
certainly leave you frazzled. Founder, Choo Yilin will share useful tips on putting together
your perfect bridal trousseau, which is timeless and personal.

In addition, there will be a goodie bag worth S$150 for each couple comprising of
vouchers, a personalized calligraphed note, desserts for the sweet tooth and
pretty posies. For a detailed breakdown of the two day’s events, please see table below. To
