The legendary musican, singer and songwriter famously known as ‘Slow Hand’ is the only triple inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame (as a member of both the Yardbirds and Cream and as a solo artist). He has also won eighteen Grammy Awards. Clapton has also contributed to numerous artists’ albums over the decades and toured extensively performing thousands of concerts around the globe. This year, Clapton celebrates his 50th Anniversary as a recording artiste.
With a extensive career that spans various genres such as blues, rock and pop, his prolific works includes iconic songs such as ‘Layla’, ‘Tears in Heaven’, ‘Wonderful Tonight’, ‘I Shot The Sheriff’, ‘Change The World’, ‘Crossroads’, ‘My Father’s Eyes’, ‘Lay Down Sally’, ‘Cocaine’ and many more.
Earlier this year, Clapton released ‘Old Sock’ – his first studio album since 2010 which features two new original songs and a collection of some of his favorite songs that highlight his vast appreciation and knowledge of music. From Leadbelly to J.J. Cale; Peter Tosh to George Gershwin; Hank Snow to Gary Moore and Taj Mahal, this record is a celebration of so many who have inspired Clapton’s rich musical life. The album explores romantic standards of the 30’s, reggae, soul and rock to create an experience that is quintessential Clapton.
The 2014 concert will see Clapton return to Singapore for the fourth time. This follows his very first concert in 1990 for his Journeyman tour and his sold-out shows at the Indoor Stadium in 2007 and 2011.
