Full Steam Ahead – An Indie-disco Beach Festival Series

If St Jerome’s Laneway Festival and Zoukout had a baby, they’d birth Lo & Behold’s latest beach festival project – Full Steam Ahead. A combination of the laid-back vibes from the former and electrifying tunes of the latter means we’re totally looking forward to this indie-disco affair slated to happen at Tanjong Beach Club on 23 May 2015!
Inspired by American beach culture, Full Steam Ahead will be Singapore’s very first day-to-night indie-disco beach festival. The festival grounds will be split into two sections. The Neon Disco (Dance Zone) will be perfect for those itching to experience Miami’s wild South Beach parties, while The Hideout (Chill Zone) caters to those yearning to immerse themselves in the relaxed atmosphere of Los Angeles’s Venice Beach.
The Neon Disco will be a cocktail of aural pleasure, featuring an exciting line-up of international Nu-Disco acts to familiar local favourites. Acclaimed Belgian DJ Aeroplane (BEL) will be flying in to start the party with his intoxicating mix of French House and Balearic Beat while Joakim (of France) will get bodies moving with his genre-bending electrojazz. Singaporean talents Dave Does (R&B remixes) and weelikeme (indie beats) will continue enveloping you in a haze of musical bliss.
On the flip side, there are myriad activities to participate in at The Hideout while you soak up the sunshine, such as making your own tie-dyes, beachside yoga classes, air-hockey, and (of course) beer pong! Feeling languid in the afternoon? There will also be sunset massages and tarot card readings to help you chill out before a long night of partying.
Last thing we need to mention: food. Expect the best-selling Truffle Burgers from Tanjong Beach Club’s sister restaurant OverEasy, tantalising tacos from Super Loco, and Popaganda providing fruity frozen refreshments in limited editions flavours.
With such an amazing variety of activities and lifestyle partners, we’re sure that Full Steam Ahead will tickle the fancies of festivalgoers everywhere, so get your tickets, stat.
Full Steam Ahead is taking place on Sunday, 23 May from 12pm to 3am at Tanjong Beach Club.
