GIMME SHELTER is all about obscure and black American soul music. Featuring Major Lens (UK) and the Singapore Soul Club DJs — original Northern Soul lads from the scene’s heyday at the Wigan Casino and other legendary UK dance halls.
Get ready for a groovin’ good time as GIMME SHELTER welcomes HIPSHAKERS! Carlos Rene and Elisse Locomotion for their first ever Singapore gig.
HIPSHAKERS! have taken their wild 60s sound to clubs and festivals around the world, such as BABALU TO BOOGALOO (Los Angeles), MOD CLUB MONTREAL (Canada), BACK BEAT (Canada), BOGOTA SOUL CLUB (Colombia), BOGOTA SOUL MAFIA (Colombia), THROUGH THE FLOOR (England), RHYTHM AND BLUES REVUE (England), ZOO ZOO (England), LAND OF 1000 DANCES (Scotland), DOUBLE SIGHT (Scotland) and BEAT GOES ON (Spain). They also host the well-established 60’s dance party HIPSHAKERS! in Mexico City. Expect an energetic set of wild 60s sounds from a variety of genres.

Dallas Hyde “dejazzy1” (UK) will be dropping a pure Northern Soul set for his GIMME SHELTER debut. A self-confessed vinylholic soul, house, and jazz funk DJ for 20+ years, Dallas is an ex-commercial and pirate radio presenter specializing in the obscure and tough sounds you like to hear on the dance floor. It wouldn’t be GIMME SHELTER without a Northern Soul set!
