20 – 21 MAY 2016 | T.H.E comes full circle this May as Artistic Director Kuik Swee Boon, alongside founding members and husband-and-wife pair Zhuo Zihao and Yarra Ileto, choreograph two new creations in the double bill production titled “Helix”. Through their eyes, the company’s core values and 8-year evolution borne of commitment and sacrifice are writ large. “Helix” is a clarion call to the enduring importance of acceptance, humility and sharing.

Kuik prescribes patience in seeking to rise above the modern quandary – a culture of self-serving egotism. Pragmatism has distorted our original ideals of individuality and freedom of expression beyond recognition. As a man who wears multiple hats – leader, mentor, dancemaker, father – he asks the inevitable question: how does one nurture a young artist to be dutiful to the collective purpose, yet uncompromising of personal beliefs?

HELIX by T.H.E Dance Company is happening on 20 & 21 May 2016, 8pm at SOTA Drama Theatre. Tickets are priced at $28, $38 and are available via SISTIC.
