Jim Thompson is a former soldier who settled in Bangkok and spent 30 years of his life reviving the Thai silk industry – then a dying trade. After his mysterious disappearance in the Malaysian jungle in 1967, his house became a museum which showcases his collection of quirky and colourful antiques.
Getting there: Take exit 1 from the BTS National Stadium Station, turn right into Soi Kasemsan 2 and continue walking all the way to the end of the road. The museum will be on your left-hand side.
