Another round of Residents Showcase this week featuring our favourite Japanese jack in a box in the headline slot – ZUYACK
Tune:
ZUYACK (Timothy Really / Koh)

Born in Kyoto, grew up in Osaka (Japan), it didn’t take long until he started DJing after being influenced by his brother and by the overwhelming psychedelic rave movement at the time. ZUYACK is an offspring of second summer of love that happened in the late 90’s in Tokyo.
While building his career as a DJ, he played a prominent role as a buyer for the now defunct legendary record store ‘Wizard Records’ in Tokyo until 2005. Through his experience as a buyer he was able to join many projects in the underground scene around Japan.
In 2008, he joined ‘Timothy Really Production’ a Tokyo based label, booking management, art direction and party planning team. Amongst other they released the Japan exclusive pre-sale album “Raw Cuts” from Motor City Drum Ensemble and co-organized Cadenza Showcase with Luciano and Raum Showcase tour with Dorian Paic. ZUYACK supported their gigs in major cities such as Tokyo, Osaka and Kobe.
Ever since a move to Bali in 2010, he has expanded his area of activity to Indonesia. He had a regular party at Club Cave where many legendary stories were made, played at major clubs such as Maria Magdalena, Mint, Jenja, amongst others, and a few parties in Jakarta and Yogyakarta as well. In 2015, thanks to his track record as a DJ he earned a residence at the newly opened club Koh.
His sound could be described as techno and house with touches of hypnotic minimal sounds creating a story across wide and deep latitudes, evolving to and from low-end hypnotic worlds. Once you are turned onto his magic, you will be tuned in to a musical journey which will keep you glued to the dance floor.
