Rocks Urban Grill + Bar is the perfect place for the busy CBD-ites to catch a breather after the mad rush at work. Just imagine sipping martinis in a room lit with warm orange light and the beautiful cityscape of Marina Bay in view. Rocks makes it really easy to for anyone to feel on top of the world.
Bar food is rarely impressive, but Rocks clearly sets the standards for good bar bites. The Crab Cakes with Spicy Tomato Sauce ($27) is made with fresh shredded crabmeat, prepared upon order. These crab cakes are absolute perfection. The crispy batter encasing the piping hot juices of the crabmeat and the accompanying spicy, tangy tomato sauce compliments the sweet flavour of the crab.
Vegetarians will be pleased to know that Rocks serves dishes that cater to their diet. The Grilled Button Mushrooms ($16) is one vegetarian dish that no one should miss. Topped with chopped onions and carrots, each grilled mushrooms is an explosion of delightful flavour.
The Deep Fried Calamari with Tartare Sauce ($22) is coated with a thin layer of golden crispy batter and the calamari is done just right. This dish is perfect for those who just want some bites and of course, goes perfectly with a beer or cider.
The classic bar food, the Rocks Cheeseburger ($27) is a simple mini burger with a chunky, juicy, beef patty topped with delicious caramelized onions and pickles. The burger buns remain in tact after absorbing all that wonderful beef juice, thanks to the fact that the chefs at Rocks bake their very own burger buns. Freshly baked burger buns with juicy beef patties? I’m in.
I’ll let you Nomads in on a secret: I reckon Rocks Grill and Bar would be the perfect place to catch National Day fireworks without having to fight the crowd and sweltering heat. Mojito, Rocks Cheeseburger and a firework show sounds like a great plan to me. No guesses where I’ll be celebrating National Day this year!
