Lumos is a music festival organised to inspire love, life and hope, all for an excellent cause. Through good music, great company, and an amazing atmosphere, a group of students from Dunman High hope to raise funds and generate awareness for Club Rainbow, a charity dedicated to helping children and youth suffering from illness.
TEAM R4INBOW, the organiser of Lumos, is a group of passionate youth who want to make a difference in society. They say: “We are currently studying in Dunman High School, and we are constantly encouraged to care, serve and lead. Inspired by our team mate’s arduous surgeries in the hospital these 2 years, we have decided to embark on this fulfilling journey.” The team translated ideas into action, and organised Lumos to help raise funds for the charitable organisation of their choice, Club Rainbow.
Club Rainbow is a charity that provides emotional and financial support to more than 600 children and youths suffering from a range of chronic and potentially life-threatening illnesses. They rely heavily on donations and volunteers to fund and implement their programmes which include a volunteer-based befriender network, free bedside tuition and counselling, workshops, talks, youth camps and incentive awards.
Lumos will be held at Dunman High School’s field on the 16th of August from 5-8pm, and will feature local acts such as HubbaBubbas, Joie Tan, SASS, Tok Xue Yi and Sweatshop Jam. Tickets cost $12, and proceeds will go towards supporting Club Rainbow.
