New Year’s Eve Parties: 10 Places to Count Down to 2017

Where will you be this year as the clock strikes 12 and the calendar resets? If you still haven’t got a clue or are still looking, we have ten spanking great parties to spend the last precious hours of 2016. Time’s a-wasting, so read on:

For the Sophisticated: WOOBAR

Times Square, New York City, is one of the most iconic places to be on New Year’s Eve with the ball drop, and this year, there’s no need for merrymakers to go that far. The folks at WOOBAR will be hosting an indoor Times Square themed party with a two-hour free-flow drinks package. From 9-11pm, drink as much champagne, whisky, gin, and vodka as you want. Table packages are available with minimum spending. Plus, stand a chance to win a three-night stay at the W New York – Times Square as well!

Time: 9pm-3am, free flow ends at 11pm

Price: $69++ per person. Table packages start at $555++ minimum spending for two, $799++ for four, to $1899++ for 15 people.

For the Somewhere Spanking New: MONTI

Two-month old MONTI has taken over the Fullerton Pavilion, so spectacular views are guaranteed at the Italian restaurant-lounge. Before you head to the dance floor or upstairs to the rooftop bar for the fabulous fireworks at midnight, consider having dinner at the restaurant. You’ll be wining and dining like kings and queens on a five-course dinner menu featuring the likes of Hamachi Carpaccio with oyster and sea urchin, Squid Ink Angel Hair with Carabinero prawns, and Australian Wagyu Tenderloin with wild mushrooms and black truffles. Plus, stand a chance to win prizes like the Monti Diamond (valued at $5,000)!

For the Gourmand: The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore

Super Night, the last of The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore’s inaugural “Super Series” will end the year with a bang, with the hotel lobby and restaurants Colony and Chihuly Lounge transformed into an exclusive black-tie affair. The night begins with an eight-course dinner by Executive Chef Massimo Pasquarelli and his team; think luscious, indulgent dishes like Poached Langoustine with fresh Japanese sea urchin, Homemade Foie Gras Cappelletti with a guinea fowl consommé, and a Charred Grilled Wagyu Tenderloin with polenta and black garlic jus. After dinner, the night continues with unlimited servings from a seafood station and chocolate bar till 11 pm, alongside unlimited pours of champagne, wines, beers, housepour spirits, chilled juices and soft drinks till 1am – talk about counting down in style!

For Pool Party Thrills: HI-SO Rooftop Pool Bar

On 31^st December, the folks at SO Sofitel Singapore will be opening up their rooftop pool bar for a night to remember. The party starts early, so head down and chill out by the pool with smooth beats and food from the barbecue as the sun sets. Alternatively, indulge in Xperience Restaurant’s extravagant six-course dinner downstairs before heading up to take advantage of HI-SO’s value for money free-flow drinks package. Dance the night way to the hypnotic, deep tunes of DJ Jeck Hyde, supported by Who Is Malik – counting down doesn’t get much sweeter than this. Those in need of a recovery session on New Year’s Day can head back to HI-SO for Bloody Marys all day long.

At the outdoor lounge of Spago, you’re guaranteed the best of both views since the outdoor terrace of Wolfgang Puck’s Singaporean restaurant lounge is located at Sands SkyPark, overlooking the infinity pool and Marina Bay on one side and Gardens by the Bay on the other. For the Party People: 1-Altitude

1-Altitude throws one of the biggest New Year’s Eve parties of the year in Singapore, and this year will not be any different. Themed Glitz, Glamour, and Gold (you can see where they’re going with the dress code), party to the soundscapes of Dutch DJ Jochen Miller who’ll be supported by resident DJs Leonard T and Jack T, with a specially concocted NYE cocktail or champagne in hand. As the clock inches closer to midnight, look forward to upbeat tunes by seven-piece party band Acoustic Trip, led by vocalist Lisa Perez. After a rambunctious countdown, continue partying into the wee hours of 1 January 2017.

The views of downtown, Singapore skyline, Marina Bay, and the fireworks don’t get any better than that of the Sands Skypark Observation Deck. Countdown under the stars with complimentary party packs, live music in the background by five-piece band CatsinECradle and a glass of cold champagne in hand. Those looking for a place to roost for the entire night can opt for tables – VIP A Table has a view of Marina Bay while VIP B Table faces the quieter Gardens by the Bay, though the latter will have an exclusive fireworks-viewing area for the latter.
