Open House: Little India Revolution

Join us at Little India Revolution, an open house event by Workhouse. True to its name, Little India Revolution will profile the changing scene in the Little India precinct – there will be free talks and workshops — including an interactive cooking demonstration by Morsels on smoked meats– a community gardening session, and an art exhibition. F&B vendors such as Eat Ripe Products, The Hangar, and Expat Kitchen will also be popping up. Other participating vendors include Growell, [-]YPHEN, and School of the Arts.

Designed by renowned architects FARM, Workhouse is a converted industrial-themed shophouse, compete with rock courtyard and open terrace rooftop. Beyond its design details, Workhouse is focused on two big things: enabling small businesses to succeed and the social impact of their work.

Partners for this event includeTransient Workers Count Too (TWC2), a non-profit organisation in Singapore dedicated to improving conditions for low-wage migrant workers, and photobooth studio, Hello Stranger, who will be sponsoring a charity photobooth where guests get to decide how much they’d like to pay for their keepsake. All monies collected will be donated to TWC2.

Little India Revolution will be held at the Workhouse, 2 Veerasamy Road on Saturday, 21 March 2015, 3-7pm

Gary is one of those proverbial jack of all trades… you know the rest. When not writing about lifestyle and culture, he dabbles in photography, graphic design, plays four instruments and is a professional wearer of bowties. His greatest weakness: spending more money on clothes than he probably should. Find him across the social world as @grimlay
