Look out for conun:DRUM, a percussion recital that will bring before you a potpourri of music from different cultures and traditions!
Join Eugene Toh and friends as they unravel a tangle of interlocking rhythms and textures in an exciting line-up of solos and collaborative works. By composers such as Casey Cangelosi, Nebojsa Zivkovic, Thierry De Mey, Shane Shanahan, Yousif Sheronick, and Guo Wenjing – this rhythmic jigsaw of traditional, modern and fusion percussion will surely pique your interest.
Prepare to sample a wide variety of musical flavours; ranging from traditional South Indian to contemporary Chinese music, Middle Eastern frame drumming to Western theatrical percussion.
A unique auditory experience of drum skins, metallic cymbals, bamboo and even glass bottles form an eclectic array of textures, while the two theatrical percussion works of the night will present a visual delight of gesture and light.
Allow Eugene and friends to bring to you a startling conundrum of rhythm and sound with this unusual percussion recital in March!
Spectrum conun:DRUM is happening on Sunday, 8 March at 7.30pm at the Esplanade Recital Studio.
