Spirited Away – The Music of Joe Hisaishi

Joshua Tan and the SSO present an evening of popular film music from celebrated composer Joe Hisaishi, including music for Studio Ghibli’s films directed by Hayao Miyazaki (My Neighbor TOTORO, Kiki’s Delivery Service and Spirited Away) and Kitano Takeshi’s film Kikujiro, as well as the theme from the Academy award-winning film Departures. Explore the enchanted world of Japanese animation films through this not-to-be-missed concert performance at The Star Theatre.

With over 100 film scores to his credit, composer Joe Hisaishi is best known for his work with animator Hayao Miyazaki, having composed scores for many of his films, and has won the Japanese Academy Award for Best Music six times.
