A hot humid climate and a big old British Roast don’t make the perfect bed fellows, but all the same, there is something so fabulous and comforting about a great Sunday roast – whole roasted succulent chicken, beef or lamb joint, or perhaps pork, perfect roast potatoes which are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with all the trimmings finished off with lashings of delicious gravy. If you want something different from weekend brunch, then well, we got chomping around the island to seek out the best restaurants and cafes for Sunday roasts in Singapore – just for you!
LeVel33
For a roast with one of the most breathtaking views in Singapore, the only place to be is LeVel 33. A roast for those who like things on the finer side of life, we were impressed with both the selection and quality of beef, lamb, pork, chicken and even fish to choose from, all at $38++. Our favourite? The Slow Roasted New Zealand Lamb complete with all the Sunday trimmings and served with a deliciously intense wholegrain mustard jus.

Cafe Melba
Cafe Melba doesn’t just offer British roasts on Sundays. Available on all weekends and Public Holidays from 11am, tuck in to this classic trio of roasted beef, yorkshire pudding, and roasted vegetables. Moist and served to the rarity of your choice, this is where you laze your Sunday away at either outlets enjoying the succulent roast to the fullest.

Muddy Murphy’s
A stalwart of full roasts since its inception, Irish pub Muddy Murphy’s Traditional Roast Beef boasts carved slices of prime beef in homemade gravy and served with mash potato, vegetables and, of course, Yorkshire pudding. Take your time to wash it all down with a jolly beer or two in hand – there’s plenty to choose from in their excellent alcohol menu.

Oxwell & Co.
Pick from four options at Oxwell & Co. for those who like their roast in different meats (and then some). While meat lovers can go for some Roast Westholme Beef (full-blood wagyu beef, $38++), Dingley Dell Pork Belly (with granny smith apple sauce, $28++) and Spatchcock half chicken (with spiced garlic rub, $26++), those who prefer vegetables can try the Mushroom, Leek & Spinach Pie (with aged cheddar, $18++). Best part? All options come with yorkies, roast potato and gravy.

Lawry’s The Prime Rib
Unsure if you can finish a full roast? Lawry’s offers a variety of cuts for you to choose from so that you don’t end up wasting any sides or trimmings. The Singapore Cut is best for light eaters, while the Lawry’s cut is their most traditional option for those who want the roast in its original form. Absolutely ravished? The Diamond Jin Brady cut is for those with the heartiest appetites and most appreciation for thick slices of meat done right.
