From a Spanish fiesta at One Rochester Park to affordable meal sets by the Fullerton Heritage Group, here are the hottest foodie happenings with our latest edition of The Weekly Grub.
Summer’s Arrived at Senso Ristorante & Bar
Sorry Lana, but summer isn’t a time of sadness when Senso Ristorante & Bar comes up with a new summer a la carte menu. With the use of fresh seasonal ingredients, Club Street’s resident Italian restaurant will be whipping up a series of Italiano classics such as the Melanzane E Tartufi ($24), vegetables tossed with eggplant caviar and dribbled with black truffle vinaigrette, and the Merluzzo alla Capuccina ($38), which sees a delicate roasted cod fillet served with luscious potato brandade. Top it off with the evergreen Panna Cotta ($14) and you might just be singing Summertime of Our Lives instead.

Sample Flavours of The Fullerton Heritage
The Fullerton group has more than a few stars in its dining arsenal and this bastion of culinary excellence will be showing off during the first two weeks of September. You’ll have the chance to savour high quality set lunches and dinners at $35 and $58 respectively. Pile your plates with a a splendid buffet spread at the river-fronted Town Restaurant, take delight in outstanding Chinese cuisine at Jade Restaurant, or enjoy the exquisite flavours of contemporary Spanish fare with a cocktail in hand at the stylish Catalunya.
This dining promotions is running from 2 to 12 September, where 11 restaurants under the The Fullerton Heritage Group are offering special set lunches at $35 per person and dinners at $58 per person.
New Cocktails at The Powder Room
Sequestered in the upper level of The Black Swan, this swanky institution now offers a revamped cocktail list, headed by the ingenuity of Lo & Behold Group’s Bar Mentor Julian Serna. Kick off a decadent night with an exquisite list of world class tipples, following which, put on those dancing shoes and shimmy along to the glorious beats of local Jazz outfit The Steve McQueens every Tuesday from 8pm onwards. Bundesliga x Brotzeit
While Singaporeans have always had a love affair with the English Premier League, the Bundesliga has taken the global footballing scene by storm thanks to the recent success of continental teams such as Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. It’s fantastic news for German football fans in Singapore, as Brotzeit announces its new partnership with Germany’s premier football league. Catch stars such as Mario Götze and Marco Reus in action, as you indulge in beer and munchies from Deutschland. There’ll also be Bundesliga memorabilia such as signed football jerseys and autographed cards up for grabs!
Bundesliga screenings will only be shown at Brotzeit’s 313@Somerset, Raffles Place, and VivoCity outlets.
A Spanish Fiesta at One Rochester’s 1 UNA
1 UNA will be throwing a massive one-night-only fiesta this Friday, bursting into life with a blizzard of live music and a host of mouth-watering food stations. Feast on a delicious banquet of Spanish specialties, with free-flow servings of the signature Paella, tapas plates, and fresh seafood. And just as any party-minded Spaniard would do, sling back refreshing glasses of Sangria ($12) and reasonably priced cocktails ($10) to get the night going. Wine cognoscenti’s can also head over to the Wine Market, where an extensive range of labels will be available for your perusal and purchase.
UNA Noche will be held for one night only on Friday, 28 August from 6pm onwards. Tickets are priced at $65++ per person, which includes free-flow of Paella, Parilla, Tapas and Seafood.
