The Weekly Grub: 5 Things to Eat and Drink in Singapore this Week

This week, we’re wrapping up February with five new additions to our ever-growing list of things to eat in Singapore. New menus at Summerlong and Opus Grill aside, look forward to Min Jiang’s dim sum lunch offerings or unwind with some classic cinema at Lulu’s Lounge.
Min Jiang’s Dim Sum Set Lunch
Skip breakfast for a day and go big on Min Jiang’s affordable weekday dim sum set lunch from now till 26 April 2019. For $36++ for two on Mondays to Fridays, grab a buddy and dine on Cantonese and Sichuan favourites like Crispy Vegetable Spring Rolls and Pan-Fried Carrot Cake, washed down with endless servings of Chinese tea. If you’re still looking to buff your meal up, soups and noodle additions are available from an additional $8++. While an afternoon food coma might not be the best idea if you have a meeting at 3, but can you really pass up an opportunity for value-for-money Steamed BBQ Pork Buns and Chilled Mango Sago?

Summerlong’s New Menu
If you’ve already indulged yourself through our guide to Robertson Quay, Summerlong may be due for a revisit. Their latest Mediterranean-inspired menu is perfect for families to share. Whet your appetite with Cold Mezzes like their Market Ceviche ($19), or add some turf to your surf with an Israeli Lamb Pita ($19). Get turnt on Barbecued Seafood with selections like the Whole Squid ($28) that comes with a delectable sauce selection, or the Alaskan King Crab ($75 for 300g) that will have you smiling all summer(long).

Classic Film Night at Lulu’s Lounge
Lulu’s has started bringing cult films back to life every Thursday night, with the James Bond classic Octopussy kicking things off. For $35, treat yourself to a burger, fries, and a glass of wine – vegan options available too! Enjoy a bespoke cocktail by the bar by hosts Julyan Phillips and Tertius Wharton and enjoy mid-movie vocal magic by Kate Aguila. The post-movie party takes you to the dance floor with DJ Max Verrier and Matteblacc’s DJ JNR, and none other than Kaye from Darker Than Wax jazzing things up on his sax. Poulet x Chef Justin Quek
Fancy something French? Poulet is plating up its new collaboration menu with homegrown celebrity chef Justin Quek in efforts to bring French dining to the masses. Adding his touch of Franco-Asian expertise to the mix, new dishes include wine-steamed seabass in a buttery white sauce in En Papillotes Baked Seabass ($15.90), tender grain-fed Rossini Angus Beef Steak ($28.90) and bittersweet Crème Chantilly Bitter Chocolate Tart ($8.90). The exclusive menu rolls out at four select locations islandwide, and will only be available for a limited time, so don’t miss out.
Poulet‘s new menu will be available from 26 February onwards at Poulet Bugis+, 7 March onwards at Poulet Raffles City, 14 March onwards at Poulet VivoCity, and 21 March onwards at Poulet Kallang Wave. Opening hours are 11.30am — 10pm from Mondays to Sundays.
New Menu at Opus Bar And Grill
Good news for the carnivores — Opus Bar and Grill at Hilton Singapore is ringing in its fourth birthday with a smacking new menu right as March rolls around. And with any order of a sharing steak (from $128++) like their signature 1kg dry-aged US Black Angus bone-in ribeye or the 1kg whisky-aged F1 Wagyu Tomahawk, diners will get a free bottle of premium red wine worth $90++. Prefer seafood? Not a problem. They’ve added new (sustainably-caught) menu items like the Seared Atlantic scallops and New Zealand Rockling Fish, grilled over open flames and Jarrah wood for an intense, smoky finish.
