About Tropical Explosion
Tropical Explosion is an event series which supports our community of global music lovers to connect and experience renowned cutting-edge global DJs/performers in intimate, unique, unpretentious venues around Singapore. For this edition, we are thrilled and honoured to bring one of the most sought after tropical house music DJs/producers of the moment, JOSE MARQUEZ, from Los Angeles to Singapore’s shores. Join us for a rare opportunity to boogie with a true innovator of global tropical music, as he treats us to a unprecedented blend of rare, soul-enriching, genre-bending house music from past, present and future.
Expect to hear deep, soulful and tribal house music infused and enriched with the rhythms, melodies, stories, and warmth of Latin America, Africa, the Caribbean alongside the latest and greatest in exuberant, funky, third-eye-opening club bangers from around the world. Hailed by many as having the best drums in house music, Jose’s organic, richly percussive style of producing and DJing often feels like having an entire drum band playing in front of you. His remixes and original productions also harness & showcase talented artists and bands such as Kakatsitsi Drummers of Ghana, Brazilian-Cuban band Bata Ketu, spoken-word poet Tshaka Campbell, Cumbia group Buyepongo, Afrobeat living-legend Femi Kuti, and Salsa maestro Joe Arroyo, to create pure dancefloor magic that transcends space and time.
This event takes place at GONG on 26 Sep, from 9pm till late. Limited advance tickets are available [here](http://peatix.com/event/113876) for $15.
