Bali Arts Festival is one of the most enchanting and colourful celebrations of the year! It brings to light the realization that art affects our daily endeavours. Explore each event which showcases the creative handicrafts, art of music, dance and beauty. A highlight is the cultural parade where people in their distinct costumes offer eye-catching subjects for the photo lens.
The 37th edition of the annual Bali Arts Festival will be rolled out from 13th June to 11th July 2015, presented around Bali’s Art Center in Denpasar, capital of Bali Province.
For a full month, the best of Bali’s dances, music, and artistic expressions will be on display. There will be daily performances of dance and music alongside cultural and commercial activities during which literally the whole of Bali will converge on the city to present offerings of dance, music and beauty. The festival will commence with a parade of performers from all districts in Bali and other Indonesian provinces. There will also be foreign participants.
This year, the festival has as its theme ‘Jagaditha: Strengthening the Welfare of Society’, its philosophy taken from historic factors, inspiration of folk art aesthetics, and everything else that has formed Balinese art as it is today. The theme will be illustrated in parades and processions, exhibitions, competitions, seminars, and documentations.
The event will highlight fascinating features among which are dance dramas (Sendratari), Bali Modern theatre, Photography Workshops, culinary festivals, and musical performances. There will also be exciting competitions such as documentary movie competitions, handicraft competitions, writing, painting, photography competitions, and more. Parades and processions will also include the Gong Kebyar Parade, Topeng Panca Parade, Nglawang Parade, Dramatari ArjaParade, Joged Bumbung Parade, Semara pagulingan Parade, Drama Gong Parade.
