Club Kyō, the progenitor of cool parties in Singapore’s Central Business District located at Cecil Street, opened back in March 2013. More than two years on, this nightlife favourite – they were one of the finalists for the Best Nightspot Experience in the Singapore Experience Awards 2014 – shows us that it has stepped up its game to the next level with a facelift of its venue.
Fret not, the cool and edgy vibes accentuated by stone, wood, and bronze furnishings are still very much of the charm that hasn’t been replicated elsewhere on our little red dot. Guests can continue to party in style, albeit with a larger dance space and better acoustics – yay!
Striking a perfect balance between local and foreign artists, Kyō has an exciting new line up of talent, including four new resident DJs Haan, Zig Zach, Michael (DJ BigMike), and Titus, in addition to the current in-house music maestros: Andrew Chow, Godwin Pereira, Norman C, and Shigeki.
Those familiar with their regular party nights will know that Tune Wednesdays feature hits of the 1970s to current day chart-toppers. Plus, ladies in a group of 6 receive a complimentary bottle of champagne. If that’s not enough, ladies enjoy complimentary vodka cranberry and gin tonics between 10pm-2am while bopping to old school hip-hop and current club hits on Hold It Thursdays.
Four new monthly nights of music will be introduced to Kyō – Tropic Lab, Blackout, Poptart and Footwork. Tropic Lab, spun by Haan and Jamie React will play the minimal funk techno tracks of Trolly Dexter and Jamie React. Blackout, featuring the groove house vibes of Hugo Marti, a household name in the Spanish club scene, will be spun by Zig Zach and Danny Fry. Poptart will consist of a fun mix of Indie pop, punk, and alternative beats. Lastly, Footwork spun by Ramesh K and Godwin P will feature fast house rhythms. The regular nights Tune (Wed), Hold It (Thu), Rewind (Fri), Forward (Sat) remain. On Rewind Fridays, expect all the greatest house classics and on Forward Saturdays Kyō will be hosting exclusive local and international guests as well as residents spinning up all the freshest tracks.
As always, party-goers can expect speedy service at the bar from its hardworking bar staff. Kyō gives you more reason to get the party started early with discounted Double Shot house pours ($10) and half-pint beers (S$10) for everyone on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from opening till midnight!
One last thing to know: cover charge is typically priced at $25 (inclusive of one alcoholic drink) on the weekends where Kyō plays awesome house music!
