Michelin Guide Singapore Bib Gourmand 2022 Released
The pressure is on as Michelin Guide 2022 returns with a banging Star Revelation and Gala Dinner at Marina Bay Sands on 12 July 2022. Released today, the sixth edition of Singapore’s Bib Gourmand selection sees 67 locations, of which nine are newly recognised. The new additions range from restaurants Cumi Bali and Unagi Tei to hawker stalls like Sing Lung HK Cheong Fun and Hai Nan Xing Zhou Beef Noodle at Kim Keat Palm Market & Food Centre. However, the inclusion of wine bar Fool is baffling, as the selection is benchmarked at a maximum of SG$45 for a three-course meal.

New Ways To Savour Nagoya’s Hitsumabushi
Summer brings with it the celebration of Unagi Day, one of the most important traditions in Japan during the season. Unagi specialist UnaUna is adding to its repertoire by introducing three new ways to enjoy the famed hitsumabushi (sliced grilled eel on steamed rice, accompanied by assorted condiments and garnishes). Now available at its Vivo City branch, the Premium Unagi Hitsumabushi Set (S$19.90/S$22.90) can be savoured as it is by placing the rice and unagi on the seaweed wrap, by adding ikura atop, or with spicy sauce over the plump eel and fluffy Japanese rice. Deals seekers can look to the small (and best value) unagi hitsumabushi set at S$10.80.
UnaUna is located at 1 HarbourFront Walk, #02-94 VivoCity, Singapore 098585, p. +65 6252 5918.
Indulge, For Goodness Sake
From the state-of-the art Shiraiwa K.K. brewery, former Dom Pérignon Chef de Cave Richard Geoffroy proudly presents the launch of their third sake release, IWA 5 Assemblage 3. In a masterful approach, the sake is strongly anchored in its home country made in Toyama, Japan with new and traditional sake brewing methods. To strike the perfect balance, Assemblage (IWA’s signature form of blending) is the answer. This process gives way for a unique combination of sweet, bitter, sour, spicy and umami palatability and a refined smooth finish that lingers.
IWA 5 Assemblage 3 will be available for purchase through its E-shop from 7 July 2022, and at the selected top restaurants throughout Singapore, such as Esora, Jaan By Kirk Westaway and Waku Ghin.
