Things may seem a little bleak with dine-in and social interactions down to two people, but fret not, our plan Bs are firmly in place. There’s still a slew of events that will carry on with safe-distancing measures, according to the tightened restrictions. Get in on the following museum exhibitions, concerts and even a grand-tour-around-the-world musical tour this week.

5th Passage: In Search of Lost Time

An exhibitionary survey of one of the seminal art initiatives in Singapore’s history, 5th Passage: In Search of Lost Time reminisces the past works of Singapore’s arts and cultural scene, highlighting the progress it has made. Curated by John Tung, formerly Assistant Curator at the Singapore Art Museum, the showcase features the works of artists like Ray Langenbach and Siew Kee Liong. Running till 17 October 2021, they will also deliver online dialogues alongside the curator.

5th Passage: In Search of Lost Time will be hosted at Gajah Gallery located at #03-04, 39 Keppel Road, Tanjong Pagar Distripark, Singapore 089065, p. +65 6737 4202, till 17 October 2021. Open Mon-Fri 11am-7pm, Sat-Sun 12pm – 6pm. 

Archifest 2021: Celebrating the Rich Evidence of Design in Everyday Life

Kick off October with a bang as Archifest 2021 returns with over 100 events held in the month. Seeking the value of design in every aspect of the world, the theme Design Evidence is wide-ranging, tackling something about everything. From coastal cleanups to feature documentaries about local artisans to workshops about traditional coffee, the extensive line-up boasts a wide array of activities both in the digital space and offline – across the country.

Let Red Dot Baroque Take You on A Grand Tour of Europe

The Red Dot Baroque is bringing the worldly experience to you at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music. A homage to the grand tours that young European noblemen embarked on when they came of age in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, reminisce the familiar European cities and learn more about cultural legacies and art traditions of the various cultures. Immerse and float away in the symphonies of the grand musical tour of Baroque Europe. 

Red Dot Baroque: A Grand Tour of Europe will  take place at Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music located at 3 Conservatory Drive, Singapore 117376, on 30 September 2021 at  7:30pm.

The Best of Two Worlds with The Digital Shamans

What this season truly needs is music. Loads of it. Music that is new, that is different, that is uplifting. That is exactly what The Digital Shamans are bringing to you this last week of September. A collaboration between Raghavendran Rajasekaran, a well-versed classical flautist with a specialisation in jazz, and electronic artist Syafiq Halid, both bring to the table their niches and along with it creative adaptations of the two genres of music. Expect an exciting fusion of two genres of music like you’ve never experienced before.

The Digital Shamans will performed live at the Esplanade Concourse at 1 Esplanade Dr, Singapore 038981, p. +65 6828 8377, on 29 and 30 September 2021, at 6.45pm and 7.45pm. Both live-stream during and recording of the live performance will be made available here. 

Up Close with ACM: A Tactile Museum Experience For All

Asian Civilisations Museum is stepping up this fall to initiate inclusiveness in a whole new realm. Working with Keppel Technology and Innovation to develop Up Close with ACM, the tactile interactive kit programme aims to educate participants on how persons with visual impairments experience objects in their daily activities. You’ll be blindfolded and brought through a museum exhibition by trained facilitators who will guide you on how to appreciate each exhibition piece using just your senses.

Up Close With ACM will be hosted at Asian Civilisations Museum at 1 Empress Place, Singapore 179555, p. +65 6332 7798, on Saturdays till 18 December 2021 from 2.00pm – 3.30pm.
