This week, as you get ready for the Lunar New Year festivities, celebrate Gallery & Co.’s 1st anniversary and party it up with some of the best international and local acts to hit the scene.

Chinatown CNY Light-Up

With Chinese New Year is just around the corner, the folks in Chinatown have prettied up the area around New Bridge Road and Eu Tong Sen Street with bright lights once again. The impending year of the Rooster means that the light-up includes handmade sculptured lanterns of roosters, hens and chicks in a combination of traditional and modern designs. That’s not all; visitors can look forward to a range of performances from both local and international artists, including acrobats.

Chinatown CNY Light-Up is happening on 7 January – 25 February 2017 at Eu Tong Sen Street, New Bridge Road and South Bridge Road. For more details, check out the event page here.

Gallery & Co.’s 1st Anniversary Party

Celebrate with Gallery & Co.’s first anniversary with interactive activities, like live drawings, silk-screen printing, and giveaways. Coinciding with the celebration is the final installation of The Artist Project 1.0 “Siapa Nama Kamu?”, “State of Mind”. Daryl C. from Darker Than Wax will be spinning the night away while you enjoy a tipple at the POP Bar. If you fancy a bite or two, the kitchen will be open till late. In celebration of their first birthday, party-goers can look forward to a 20% discount on retail and the restaurant!

River Hongbao 2017

An annual Singaporean Lunar New Year event, River Hongbao brings fun-filled activities to the Marina Bay are. On top of local and foreign acrobats and artists stage performances, and activities such as riddle games and amusement rides for the kids, visitors can expect nightly fireworks at 9pm, except on Chinese New Years’ Eve (27 January 2017).

River Hongbao is happening from 26 January to 4 February 2o17, 8pm-10pm at the Marina Bay Floating Platform. For more details, check out the event page here.

Interstellar’s Sonic Lunar New Year

Connecting cutting edge music and visual arts with otherworldly concepts, Interstellar has organized one of Asia’s largest alternative outdoor festival to date, the Eclipse Festival 2016. This Chinese New Year, Interstellar is collaborating with CATO to bring you the legendary Patrik Skoog & Jane Fitz! Also have the chance to support local DJs such as Adam C and Angela Flame aka RE2, who will be playing the opening number for the guest DJs.

Interstellar’s Sonic Lunar New Year is happening on 28 & 29 January 2017, 9pm till late at CATO. Cover charge is priced at $10 before 10pm and $20 after 10pm. For more details, check out the event page here.

Team Nervous presents Chanca & Julien Brochard

Making their not-so-nervous debut in Kilo Lounge, Amsterdam-based crew Team Nervous brings in Julien Brochard, The Council’s resident Frenchman. His love for music started since young, and has come a long way for someone his age. Since 2015, he has been gracing our sunny island with his sound, and has been the mastermind behind massive dance floors at experiential dance parties.
