Singapore Lyric Opera invites all to celebrate All Things Bright & Beautiful

This December, embrace the festive spirit with ‘All Things
Bright & Beautiful’, a choral concert by the Singapore Lyric Opera Children’s Choir and
friends at the Esplanade Concert Hall, on 13th December 2014, 7.30pm.
The end of the year is a time to gather, celebrate and enjoy being in the familiar warmth of
family and friendship. Usher in this season’s good tidings with the SLO Children’s Choir as
they spread peace and merriment, along with the Singapore Lyric Opera Chorus and guest
choir, the Nanyang Children’s Choir.
With their clear voices and youthful vitality, the SLO Children’s Choir has always been
popular amongst audiences since their inception in August 2006.
Leading them is established choral conductor Rose Loh, resident conductor of the SLO
Children’s Choir. Dr. Joyce Koh and Adrian Poon will also join Rose on the conductor
podium, as guest conductors. The pianist for the evening will be Aloysius Foong.

The concert aims to celebrate the season of sharing and giving with a line-up of charming
classics like, Walking in the Air by Howard Blake, Dormouse’s Carol by Elizabeth Poston,
and John Rutter’s All Things Bright and Beautiful.
Audiences will also be delighted with season’s favourites, Jingle Bell Swing, This Little Light
of Mine and What A Wonderful World to name a few.
The SLO Children’s Choir, in this season of sharing, has invited the Nanyang Children’s
Choir, under the baton of Dr. Joyce Koh, a resident choir based in Nanyang Technological
University to share the concert platform with them, as well as its adult counterpart in
Singapore Lyric Opera, the SLO Opera Chorus.
The choice of songs expresses the simple joys of a meaningful life, such as family, friends
and the community we live in.
Together with the Opera Chorus and the Nanyang Choir, the SLO Children’s Choir will
present an exciting repertoire that includes well-loved Japanese pieces, Shinjuru and Kimi Wo
Nosete.
