Free Chai Day 2014
PUBLISHED January 24th, 2014 05:03 am | UPDATED May 9th, 2018 03:13 am
Free Chai Day is an event to foster harmony through the simple act of drinking chai (Indian milk tea). Chai is a favourite South Asian beverage that is shared by friends, family and guests. It is a symbol of hospitality and a drink over which conversations are sparked.
The event is partly inspired by the quote, “The first time you share tea with a Balti, you are a stranger. The second time you take tea, you are an honoured guest. The third time you share a cup of tea, you become family.”
This is what Free Chai Day hopes to create with this event; to move from being strangers, to becoming one big family.
Free Chai Day 2014 will be held on 27th January 2014 from 1130hrs to 1730hrs at our partner restaurants. Learn more [here](http://freechaiday.org)
