-M- (Matthieu Chedid) Live in Singapore!

Oh mon dieu! On March 16, one of France’s brightest pop-rock stars -M- (real name Matthieu Chedid) is set to perform live in Singapore for the first time, bringing his electrifying guitar sound, eccentric style and highly infectious energy to the stage at the Kallang Theatre.

-M- is the brilliant result of contemporary romanticism, sensitive songwriting and a devastating guitar sound. Since popping up in the 90’s with a cartoon-esque look, an M-shaped haircut and a penchant for donning pink suits in the style of Prince or Elton John, -M- has been unabashedly reigning over the French pop rock scene. Famous for delivering grandiose performances in extravagant décors, -M-‘s half-real, half-disguised character has been captivating music lovers for over a decade. His debut appearance in Singapore promises to dazzle the audience – whether you’re French, a Francophile or simply intrigued by this multi-talented man of mystery.

Throughout his musical career, -M- has won various music awards including ‘Male Artist of the Year’ and ‘Best Concert’ at the ‘Victoires de la Musique’, the French equivalent of the Grammy Awards. -M- has also embarked on various musical projects such as the original soundtrack of acclaimed animated film ‘Les Triplettes de Belleville’ (The Triplets of Belleville), as well as collaborations with Vanessa Paradis, Amadou & Mariam and Sean Lennon.

-M- writes about love – but in a strikingly different way than everyone else does. With a moniker that sounds like ‘aime’ (‘love’ in French), -M- always manages to turn any love song or ballad into something devilishly sensual, whilst retaining the ferocity of his agile and rhythmic guitar riffs. His latest album, ‘Il’, features an all-new musical line-up, delivering a simpler, more straightforward record with a heightened rock sensibility.
