Alliance Francaise – Singapore

The Alliance Francaise has come a long way since having 50 members in 1949 – the centre currently has over 5000 students registered for classes while becoming the pioneer institute of all things related to French culture.

Aisde from its French classes (did you know they also teach Spanish?), Alliance Francaise is known for hosting the French Film Festival, which began over 20 years ago, and more recently, the French Animation Film Festival, which began in 2012. This yearm we’re particularly looking forward to their The Little Prince In The Dark exhibit, which attempts to bring Saint-Exupéry’s illustrations to life by the sense of touch.

When Joel’s not partaking in one of his shameless eating sessions, he likes to think of himself as a sponge – absorbing the mysteries and beauty of our world – be it through a good book or a wacky jaunt in a foreign country.
