We love everything about Bali, from its friendly locals and world-class restaurants to the most amazing nature trails. But let’s not forget the number one reason why throngs of tourists make their way down to the gorgeous Indonesian island all year round: the beaches and their beach clubs. The island is packed with them, and while we’d like to believe that they’re all incredible, it goes without saying that a small bunch of them are cooler than the rest. Here are our absolute favourite beach clubs in Bali, boasting excellent eats and drinks, the finest tunes, stunning views like no other, and more.
Potato Head Beach Club: Best live music gigs
It’s safe to say that you haven’t quite experienced Bali without coming to Potato Head Beach Club. Make your way down early to grab the best seats and even better cocktails (try the Nanas Colada) at the swim-up bar, or any of the three bars in the venue. Then, relish the day with amazing live music, an infinity pool, 500 square-metre-lawn, jacuzzi, and two award-winning restaurants that serve up locally-sourced food, seafood sharing platters, and some pretty fabulous desserts. Love to party? Potato Head hosts several impressive party series featuring both local and international DJs from time to time.
Potato Head Beach Club is located at Jalan Petitenget, Seminyak, Bali, p. +62 361 473 7979. Open daily 10am – 2am.
Komune Beach Club: Bring out the surf boards
Situated right in front of the famous Keramas surf beach, Komune Beach Club is a big hit among surfing enthusiasts for its four surf breaks and grade A waves. This is the place to meet like-minded people, watch the foamy water, kick back, and listen to some feel-good music. When the sun goes down, stay and enjoy the beachfront outdoor lawn cinema that looks out into the Indian Ocean, accompanied by some delicious seafood, healthy juices, and vibrant cocktails. Surfs up!
Komune Beach Club is located at Jalan Pantai Keramas, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali, p. +62 361 301 8888. Open daily early – late.
El Kabron: Beach club on a cliff
El Kabron is perched 50 metres above sea level, on the cliffs of Bingin Beach in Uluwatu, no less. This technically makes it a cliff club, but hey, the breathtaking 180-degree view of the secluded sunset, which you can watch from the bright blue infinity pool that blends into the ocean horizon, makes up for that. Also a Spanish restaurant, El Kabron offers a true Spanish dinner experience laden with the rustic flavours of ambrosial home cooking – simplicity at its finest.
El Kabron is located Jalan Pantai Cemongkak, Pecatu, Uluwatu, Bali, p. +62 878 6171 7212 & +62 821 4437 0139. Open daily 10am – 10pm.
Ku De Ta: Bali’s original party central
Arguably one of Bali’s most famous spots for all-day partying, Ku De Ta offers breakfast as early as 8am, and opens till well past midnight. The electrifying vibes, sun-sparkled pool, and long stretch of day beds make for a brilliant sunset destination, as you dance to soulful beats playing in the background. Nothing like heading down on a party night for international guest DJs and an eclectic hip-swaying crowd as the trees above dance together in the breeze, are we right?
Ku De Ta is located at Jalan Kayu Aya No. 9, Seminyak, Bali, p. +62 361 736 969. Open daily 8am – 2am.
Sundays Beach Club: Where every day feels like Sunday
Every day is Sunday on this stunning stretch of white sandy beach. Fuel up with a special breakfast crafted by much-lauded Australian chef James Viles (think poke bowls and breakfast pizzas) before bringing out the kayaks, stand up paddle boards, or even snorkelling gear as you traverse the crystal clear lagoon ahead. Not much of a water sports person? Chill by your sun bed to the coolest tunes from resident DJs or lounge at the circular bar with one of the signature cocktails. There’s even a nightly beach bonfire!
Sundays Beach Club is located at Jalan Pantai Selatan Gau, Banjar Wijaya Kusuma, Ungasan, Bali, p. +62 811 942 1110. Open daily 8am – 10pm.
Finn’s Beach Club: New kid on the block
This new Canggu hotspot along Berawa Beach boasts an impressive bamboo structure that’s specifically designed to give guests a guaranteed view of the spectacular sunset view. Finn’s is a piece of paradise on its own, with a sparkling 30-metre infinity pool with a swim-up bar (the mojitos here are delicious) and cool underwater speakers spewing out deep house music from resident DJs all day long. Plus, there’s a spot for volleyball, hammocks, plenty of day beds, a full-service international restaurant, several bars, and also a decent spa. Read our review here.

Sundara Beach Club: For customised dining
There’s nothing quite like a truly outstanding meal coupled with beachside ambience and panoramic views of the ocean, is there? Sundara Beach Club is the most serene beach club on the list, its soundtrack taking a different direction with live music from Bali’s top Indie artists, and then there’s its location on the exclusive Jimbaran Bay, with an extensive 57-metre infinity pool to boot. This is a restaurant and bar first, and beach club second, featuring avant-garde cocktails by Dry Martini’s Javier de las Muelas, and a candlelit restaurant filled with Modern Asian-inspired dishes. This one’s for the romantics.
