Are you ready to join in the festive cheer and go out of 2015 with a bang? Esplanade‘s annual Celebrate December is back from 18-31 December 2015! During this time, Lion City dwellers and visitors can expect quality performances and engaging activities around the Esplanade – for free!

Get Your Groove On

The Good Life Project

With their roots firmly planted into a rich expanse of time-honoured music, let The Good Life Project court your hearts with tales of life told through their unique blend of exuberant music sensibilities. Formed in 2011, the alternative soul band has already developed an enthusiastic following for their unique instrumentation, challenging conventional approaches to arranging music.

Summertimes Big Band

Celebrate a swinging Christmas with the Summertimes Big Band as they bring you familiar classics and festive favourites. Made up of 18 musicians, this independent band has 200 shows to their name and are seasoned pros at getting Singaporeans all grooved up to their energetic, passionate, and funky music.

Blue Monks – The Disco Funk Edition!

Featuring some of Singapore’s funkiest musicians like vocalist Roze Kasmani, bassist Jase Sng, and drummer Teo Jia Rong, The Blue Monks have come together to perform your favourite disco and funk hits from the ’70s to the ’90s. It’s going to be a non-stop, high-energy set so come ready in your dancing shoes.

The New Traditional

Ding Yi Youth Ensemble with Schola Cantorum

Presenting a refreshing take on popular Christmas tunes and other original compositions with traditional Chinese instruments, experience the distinctive beauty of Chinese chamber music as Ding Yi Youth Ensemble Come collaborates with local choir collective Schola Cantorum for the first time.

Time: 20 Dec, 7.15pm & 8.30pm

 

SherePunjab Bhangra

Tap along to the infectious rhythms of the dhol and energetic choreography of the multi-racial dance group SherePunjab Bhangra as they fuse traditional and modern  Bhangra music. A tapestry of colours, formations and races, the SPB will be popping up at different location around the Esplanade, so keep a look out!

Lorong Boys

Equally comfortable playing on the hallowed stage of a concert hall as they are on the streets in the heartland, the Lorong Boys burst onto the Singapore music scene when their spontaneous performance on an MRT train went viral on social media. Performing on violins, flute, piano and percussion, the repertoire of this unorthodox quintet spans classical revivals, Broadway standards, and even Top 40 pop music.

Ring In The New Year

 The Mad Company

Get fired up for 2016 with pure joy and body-moving beats as The Mad Company brings you a dynamic music party countdown. With soulful vocalist Khim Ng fronting the band, you can expect popular favourites such as I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Twist & Shout and Uptown Funk.

Roze and the Family Soul

Having performed alongside artists like Imran Ajmain, Taufik Batisah, and Shun Ng, local soul and R&B stalwart Roze Kasmani will be partnering with jazz-hop band TAJ – Audrey Tengkey on keys, Jia Rong on drums, and Tim De Cotta on bass – to bring you an entertaining repertoire of well-loved hits this New Year’s Eve countdown.

Make a Wish!

Join Esplanade in their yearly tradition, and take a moment of gratitude and reflection by penning your own New Year wishes on a bell charm. The bell charms can be found along the walkways of the Waterfront.

 

Mirror Image Postcard Craft Activity

Discover your inner artist and get creative with this free-and-easy craft activity – make your own personalised ‘mirror-image’ postcards, pen in a message and address, and simply drop it off at the postbox provided. Paints and basic materials are provided for you, as well as stamps! (while stocks last).
