Salted and Hung

It’s no exaggeration to say that restaurant booking engines in Singapore have revolutionised the way we dine out, and Chope is definitely one of the most popular platforms, with more than a thousand food and beverage partners scattered across the island. And in return for the love of Chope fans and for partner restaurants to receive acknowledgements and accolades they deserve, Chope Diners’ Choice Awards has returned for the forth year running!

Cheek by Jowl

So, foodies, get ready to vote with your fingers (and wallets) for some of the best restaurants and bars in Singapore across 12 categories such as Chef of the Year, Best Halal Spot, Most Romantic Restaurant, and Best Cafe.

This year, the folks at Chope have also devised a new voting system with three different ways for restaurants, cafes, and chef to rack up the points – don’t worry, Chope diners like yourselves definitely benefit. From 31 October to 21 November 2017, the easiest is a one-time-only vote for your favourite venue in all 12 categories via the online form. Each vote counts as one point.

Another way to vote is by booking a table at the nominated dining establishment through Chope using the promo code CHOPEDC17. Not only does this award the restaurant two points, diners get twice as much Chope-Dollars with each reservation, and every two bookings will earn you a $10 dining voucher as well.

Just for the awards, the nominees are offering exclusive Diners’ Choice Specials. Available 31 October to 30 November 2017, set menus are priced at $19.90++ at cafés such as Gudetama Cafe, Sinpopo and Hello Kitty Orchid Garden, and $39.90++ at restaurants like Xiao Ya Tou, Cure and Blue Lotus Chinese Grill House.

What’s more, if you’re amongst the first 100 to purchase two items from the Diners’ Choice Specials, you will receive an additional $15 discount for your next purchase! Each purchase from the Specials will score your favourite nominee two points too. The additional icing on the cake, is definitely the number of prizes that all voters can stand a chance to win, such as $100 Takashimaya vouchers, a one-night staycation at new luxury hotel Andaz, and a grand prize of a return trip to Phuket – so get cracking!

Voting is open and will close 21 November 2017. You’ll find the list of nominees here and winners will be revealed 27 November 2017, so watch this space. May the best taste win.

When not downing frappes during her writing spiels, Megan can be found catching up on her favourite franchises or cajoling friends and family out for yet another Japanese dinner. An insane need to stay connected means you can reach her anytime – except on alternate weekends, when she’s found next to a TV screen, watching F1 cars go ‘round in circles.
