Digital Fashion Week Singapore 2014

Digital Fashion Week

Digital Fashion Week Singapore (DFW SG) is back for its third edition this October! While there aren’t supermodels like Naomi Campbell jetting into town as they did previously, you can still expect an exciting lineup true to the theme this year, ‘European Exchange’.

International heavy-hitters at DFW SG will be showcasing their Spring Summer 2015 collections, fresh off the runways of London and Milan Fashion Weeks. The star of the show (for us, at least) is definitely British designer label Fyodor Golan – the Latvian duo behind the brand, Fyodor Podorgny and Golan Frydman, are known for their Jekyll and Hyde ethos, which explores the contrast in women’s strength and sensitivity. Italian style maker Cristiano Burani will also be in town with his signature relaxed silhouettes and wearable apparel.

Collaborating yet again with the Singapore British Council this year, DFW SG will see many prominent British industry insiders at the event, such as Hilary Alexander, fashion director of The Daily Telegraph and celebrity fashion stylist Rebekah Roy. Winners of Asia’s Next Top Model, Sheena Liam, and America’s Next Top Model, Jourdan Miller, will also be gracing the runways of DFW SG.

Opening the fashion week, however, is our very own Max Tan and the world’s older supermodel, Carmen Dell’Orefice (she’s 83 this year!) will be walking for him. Other Singaporean labels in the spotlight we’re looking forward at DFW SG include the minimalist In Good Company, women’s urban wear Pauline Ning, and local fashion veteran Thomas Wee.

Fashion Fights AIDS

9 local designers – Max Tan, Depression, Sundays, and Kae Hana amongst them – will also be launching a T-shirt collection that represents their brand or collection during DFW SG to raise money for Action for Aids, a non-profit organization commited to AIDS prevention, advocacy, and support. Each tee retails at $59 and can be purchased online at Lazada from early November 2014.

Digital Fashion Week Singapore is happening 31 October to 3 November 2014. Register at their website to score exclusive invites or catch the live streaming of all the shows on their Youtube Channel.
