But one puzzle a day isn’t satisfying our addicted minds – we need more! If you’re also looking for a brain workout, here are seven other word games that will have you breaking a sweat. Word-leh
There’s no doubt Wordle has inspired heaps of alternatives – we’re talking Harry Potter, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings-themed content. So what makes you think Singaporeans would shy away from making the American word-game their own? A Singlish take by New York-based Singaporean Ms Sha-Mayn Teh, Word-leh has already garnered over 50,000 visitors. The gameplay is practically similar to the original game, but instead of using the common English dictionary the web game adopts a Singlish vocabulary. Worldle
Similarly, Worldle is a geography spin-off of the original game. Made for travel enthusiast and atlas fanatics, this game presents players with an outline of a country or territory, and offers them six tries to correctly guess where the locale is. Wordle also flashes the iconic grey, green and yellow squares, but in this scenario it reflects the proximity of your guessed nation to the actual country. A game that netizens are calling ‘the original Wordle’, 4 Pics 1 Word is a nostalgic brainteaser that has unlocked core memories of our youth. For folks who were not hooked to this game in the depths of 2016, we’re here to explain the gameplay. Pretty self-explanatory from its name, the game offers hints at four pictures aligned around one theme, and players have to guess the word that describes the aforementioned pictures. Though the game might seem easy at first, it can get difficult quickly as you find yourself being stuck on a level for days.
