Peranakan Museum

As the first of its kind, the Peranakan Museum prides itself in housing the world’s most distinctive and comprehensive collection of artefacts and wares.

The musem’s 10 galleries will take you through the immerse you history and cultural identity of the Peranakans, beginning with the understanding of their origins to various aspects of their community, such as religion, language, and food. (Now you can impress your friends with an extended history of nyona kueh!)

The museum is currently running an exhibition dedicated to the lives of pioneer Peranakan who helped shaped Singapore’s identity and from the past two centuries – certainly a learning experience for anyone who’s contemplated the country’s cultural development. There are also authentic Peranakan eateries and charmings shops in the row of four shop-houses adjacent to its building – perfect or all those who wish to immerse themselves in the ultimate Peranakan experience!

The Peranakan Museum is Open Daily from 10am to 7pm, and Friday 10am to 9pm. Admission costs $6+ per individual ($3 for concession).
