Singapore’s premier Afrobeat/Reggae party will be celebrating 5 years of Singapore’s 1st reggae soundsystem Dub Skank’in Hifi Soundsystem featuring Instigator Afrobeat Orchestra – 10 piece live Afrobeat band plus special guest vocalists and DJ sets by Dub Skank’in Hifi selectors and friends.

While the classics never get old,be pleasantly surprised when the familiar tunes of soul, jazz and R&B is treated to an alternative twist of the Afrobeat!Instigated by the founder Firmann Salim. Instigator Afrobeat orchestra is a band of experienced musical kindred who share similar musical influence of Afro sounds.Treating bona fide tunes with an unexpected palatable accompaniment of signature afro-musica elements like Fela Kuti, The Skatalites, boisterous horn lines, Afro, Brazilian rhythms and heavy rooted reggae baselines. Afro-centric vibrations from the band that will hit the right notes and spots to get your feet moving on the dance floor!

Carving a niche in Singapore’s hustle and bustle, this Soundsystem offers a chance to retreat from the madness with its monthly events that feature DJs and bands playing the sweet sounds of Reggae and Dub, as well as the boisterous beats of Ska, both old and new. Dub Skank’in Hifi Soundsystem aims to inspire and share the joy and creativity of Dub, Reggae and Ska – painting the Lion City with the vibrant colours and wisdom of the black, gold, red and green.
