Dessert lovers venture into the sleepy heartland neighborhood of Lorong Ah Soo for Lickers’ artisanal ice cream that is crafted in-house. On a mission to make people happy, the humble creamery serves small batches of 16 ice cream flavours prepared sans synthetic additions and off-the-shelf mixes. Pair a scoop with a slab of their thick waffle (S$7.50) that’s consistently crisp on the outside and fluffy inside. This hidden gem opens late until 2am, great for late-night hangs.

Columbus Coffee Co.
Channel your inner Scandinavian influencer at the minimally decorated cafe. Folks from around the island gather at this popular brunch spot in the Upper Thomson brunch enclave for their reasonably priced coffee, hearty mains, and desserts that include freshly baked buttermilk waffles available all day. Take your pick from plain ($11.50+), salted, or earl grey caramel ($13.40+). There’s also a candied bacon and vanilla ice cream version ($15.50+) for the more adventurous.

Nassim Hill Bakery Bistro Bar
Purveyor of freshly baked goods and comfort brunch fare, Nassim Hill Bakery Bistro Bar is housed in two heritage post office buildings that provide a relaxing respite surrounded by lush greenery. Both outlets serve some of the most decadent savoury and sweet waffles in town. Perfect for any time of the day, the banana chocolate waffles ($22++) is served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, bananas, whipped cream, toasted almonds, and chocolate sauce.

Tiong Bahru Bakery Diner
The homegrown bakery and cafe has come a long way since its inception in 2012. Better known for their iconic golden, flaky croissants, the institution has now expanded to nine stores, including two all-day dining concepts in Raffles City and Funan. On the menu is the unique “100% Sourdough Waffle“, a homemade liege waffle made with a 159-year-old starter. Available in sweet and savoury renditions, the sweet ($21++) version comes with Thai mango and lemongrass chantilly, and a drizzle of salted butter caramel sauce.

The long-time resident of Chip Bee Gardens in Holland Village delivers a carefully curated menu of distinctive sweets and cakes as well as freshly churned ice cream that is handcrafted in small batches with great attention to detail. The ice cream pairs perfectly with the cafe’s signature Belgian waffles, made with locally sourced market fresh eggs and 100% pure butter. Get a waffle with a single scoop ($11.80++), double scoops (add $2.80++), or craft your own waffle creation with different topping options ($1.90++ per serving).

Strangers’ Reunion
Home to champion baristas, the cozy cafe is recognized for serving some of the best coffee and cold brews in Singapore. Strangers’ Reunion is also known for its wide selection of buttermilk waffles served with a variety of toppings such as fruit with maple syrup or greek yogurt as well as its signature Banana Brulée Waffle ($14.90++) a fluffy waffle topped with caramelized sliced banana, vanilla ice cream and mixed berries compotes.

From the team behind Sogurt, KARA Cafe & Dessert Bar serves a lovingly created menu of comfort food that includes healthy and flavourful grain bowls, grilled cheese toasties, snacks for sharing (cue the very popular truffle cheese tots), and signature homemade mochi waffles that features an addictive bite of chewy insides and crispy outside. Beloved hipster ice cream parlour Creamier has been a favourite among ice cream lovers since opening its first store in Toa Payoh. Keeping it simple with a rotating menu of handcrafted, small-batch ice cream including fun seasonal flavors, Creamier is also proud of its signature Golden Waffles that is prepared with fresh market eggs, full cream milk, and pure butter that produces a crisp texture and moist, fluffy interior.
