Wat Mahathat

Wat Mahathat is the headquarter of Thailand’s largest monastic order and Vipassana Meditation centre. Originally built to house a relic of the Buddha, this temple has become one of the go-to places to learn Vipassana Meditation (Insight Meditation). Every Sunday, it transforms into Bangkok’s largest amulet market, where you can purchase items such as religious amulets, charms, talismans, and traditional medicine.
