Scare yourself silly this Halloween with the best spooky happenings taking place in Singapore. Have a frighteningly-fun, terrifyingly-twisted and hauntingly-horrific time with our guide to what’s happening this Halloween…
Or if you’re a big scaredy-cat, just stay in, lock the doors and hide under the covers!
Race The Dead 2013
Seen World War Z – were you TERRIFIED? Prepare for the real (ish) thing when Race The Dead, Singapore’s first 5K zombie run sets your heart-racing faster than you can run. Standing in your way, every corner and every turn, will be hordes of zombies waiting to grab a hold of your beautiful faces to tear them open and consume what’s beneath (aaaaaargh!).  The apocalypse is closer than you think, and if you think all you’ve got to be is fast, you’ve got another thing coming. Runners will have to manouvre and traverse a string of obstacles to make their way to The Fort, the last remaining safe haven that is quarantined and kept safe from the zombie hordes. Armed military personnel will be waiting at the gates to ensure your survival, but getting there is the challenge….just pray the un-dead don’t get you!
Race the Dead is taking place on October 26 – October 27, 2013 at: Tanjong Beach Club, 120 Tanjong Beach Walk, Sentosa, Singapore 098942. For more information, see here.
Cursed Studio
During a normal day broadcast at the Radio studio, two DJs experience a light trip at 7.30pm…only later will they realise they are in deep trouble. The studio was cursed at the time and voices from beyond told that n0-one would survive that night. The two Radio DJs were reported murdered and another was reported missing, never to be found. Your task (should you chose to accept it!) is to enter the cursed studio office and find the documents to prove that these horrific activities occurred …and escape before the dead find you and eat you alive. This is a haunted house with a promise to scare even the bravest of souls, take note of question number 9 in the FAQ’s…. Can I get out if I am too scared to make it through?
A: Yes, many people each night are too scared to complete the task in The Cursed Studio and are let out by our security staff.
O. M. G…… Goosebumps just thinking about it.
The curse will be unsealed on the following dates: 19th, 20th, 25th, 26th, 27th, 30th, 31st of October 2013 from 7.30pm – 11pm daily.. for more information see here.
Halloween Horror Nights
Horror, hell and doom are but a few paces away as the usually ‘filled with joy’ Universal Studios transforms in to a terrifying maze of haunted houses and scare zones once darkness falls. Three vengeful sisters have forged an evil alliance to trap unsuspecting victims in this nerve-testing, heart-pounding challenge. Beware of the evil spirit with alluring beauty and a deceptively sweet voice, the Maiden of the Opera haunts the Chinese Opera Academy, taking pleasure in tearing the lives out of all who dare cross her path. A practitioner of ancient black magic, Crone of the Forest lurks within the shadows of the Forbidden Forest, searching for new souls to enslave. A child-like vampire with an insatiable thirst for blood, Daughter of the Undead prowls amongst the tombstones of an ancient cemetery for her latest prey…and after you’ve had the beejezus scared out of you, you can hop on a roller-coaster to calm those nerves!
Halloween Horror nights is on the: 11th, 12th, 18th, 19th, 25th, 26th, 31st October, 1st-3rd November 2013 from 7.30pm-1am, at Universal Studios Singapore, Resorts World Sentosa. For more information and to buy tickets see here.
Sentosa Spooktacular
Get ready to cower, scream and peak from behind your fingers as you make your way along five horror trails based on stories from terrifying Thai horror films such as ‘Dorm’ (2006), ‘Body’ (2007), ‘Shutter’ (2008), ‘Coming Soon’ (2008) and ‘Pee Mak’ (2013). Brave down the Body trail and you’ll become familiar with the tale of Chon, a medical student who had performed countless autopsies, became increasingly perturbed by nightmares filled with horrific flashes of one of the corpses he recently studied; it belonged to Dararai, who had been gruesomely butchered. And it seems the vengeful soul has placed a deadly curse on the whole faculty — including you (waaaaah! ). To lift the curse, you will need to locate and retrieve Dararai’s grisly body parts (gloves not provided) before piecing them together. Sounds not only terrifying but also a bit gross!
Sentosa Spooktacular is on the 19th, 25th, 26th, 31st October; 1st, 2nd November 2013 from 7pm -11pm at Fort Siloso, Sentosa. For more information and to buy tickets see here.
