Rachael Yamagata – Live in Singapore
American singer-songwriter Rachael Yamagata is set to serenade Singapore once again at the Esplanade Concert Hall this Thursday. Her voice has been described so soulful that it “could inspire a tiger to chuff, an elephant to trumpet and whales to sing.”, and she’s released numerous albums, had record label deals, and toured the world multiple times with sell-out concerts all over, including Singapore back in 2015 and 2013.
Rachael Yamagata – Live in Singapore is happening on Thursday, 2 June 2016, 7.30pm at Esplanade Concert Hall. Tickets are priced at $48, $68, $88, and $98, available via SISTIC. For more details, check out the event page here.
Singapore Improv Festival
Singapore’s first-ever Improvised Theatre festival will feature the best of our island’s alternative theatre and comedy scenes, featuring performances by over 10 homegrown improv teams. Be dazzled by the teams’ mental acrobatics and flights-of-fancy, as they make up characters, stories, and dialogue on-the-spot – with a little help from you audiences. No two improv shows are ever the same, and they can span multiple genres like comedy, science fiction, and musicals. And yes, even the music is improvised too!
Singapore Improv Festival is happening from 3 to 5 June 2016 at Centre 42. Tickets are priced at $25. For more details, please click here.
Nanta Cookin’
One of the most popular shows in Korea ever since it premiered in October 1997, Nanta Cookin’ has been staged in the UK, Germany, Austria, Italy, Japan, and Taiwan, just to name a few. The comic musical non-verbal performance is derived from the traditional Korean instrumental performance, “Samulnori”.
With the kitchen as its backdrop, chefs as its main characters, knives and other kitchen utensils are transformed into musical instruments as they thrill you with acrobatic cooking moves to prepare for a surprise wedding ceremony!
NANTA (Cookin’) is happening from 3 to 5 June 2016 at Resorts World Theatre. Tickets are priced at $138, $118, $98, $68, and $48, available via SISTIC.
