City Nomads Has a New Look, a Sharper Focus, and Prizes to Give Away

City Nomads launched in 2012 as a city guide focused in Singapore, the kind that told you where to eat, what to see, and which neighbourhood was worth your afternoon. It’s grown since then, slowly and deliberately, shaped by the people building it and the readers who keep coming back.

What’s changed recently is structural. Since early 2025, we’ve been operating as a duo, husband and wife, two editors with different instincts about what makes a story worth telling. One of us leans into strategy, visual language, technology and growth; the other into curation, editorial rigour, business development and industry relationships. It’s a better system than either of us alone. It’s an ongoing process, bringing more clarity and intention to how we work.

This next chapter is less rebrand and more recalibration. A refreshed brand look; a cleaner site following up-to-date industry standards; a sharper editorial flow across culture, dining, travel, wellness and lifestyle. And a clearer sense of who we’re making it for: people who want to understand a place, not just visit it.

To mark the occasion, we’ve partnered with four places we genuinely love and we’re celebrating this landmark in our existence by offering our users the chance to experience them too.

One of Singapore’s longest-running Japanese fine dining restaurants, Keyaki sits on Level 4 of Pan Pacific Singapore, framed by a koi pond and Japanese garden that feels genuinely removed from the Marina Bay bustle outside. Executive Chef Teruya Noriyoshi, who has spent time in Nobu kitchens across New York, Milan and London, leads a kitchen focused on seasonal sourcing and precise preparation. Use the credit across sashimi, teppanyaki, or the omakase menus. It’s also featured in our guide to Singapore’s hottest teppanyaki spots worth booking.

Hai Tien Lo, is Cantonese for “Stairway to Heaven”. It has been a consistent fixture on Level 3 of Pan Pacific Singapore. The kitchen does classic dim sum and signature roasts well, and also turns out what they call New Cantonese dishes: familiar techniques with updated thinking. It’s the kind of restaurant where you go for a reason: a birthday, a slow Sunday lunch, and it earns the occasion. It’s also recognised in our round-up of the best dim sum spots in Singapore for all budgets.
