City Nomads Whisky Tasting – The Power of Wood

This coming Valentine’s Weekend, Saturday 15th February sees the long awaited return in our City Nomads series of Whisky and Spirits appreciation classes at our friends at La Maison du Whisky. This February, it’s all about the wood. Over the course of the class, we’ll be tasting four top quality whiskies, each made with different barrels and casks…from Ex-bourbon to Sherry, and even Japanese Oak. The class with be guided by industry expert Joseph Ricketts.

On the tasting menu:

– Clynelish 1995 Single cask SV (ex-bourbon barrels)

– Glendronach 15 year old (sherry casks)

– Chichibu Chibidaru (quarter casks, American oak and Japanese oak heads)

– Chichibu Port Pipe (Port Pipes, previously held Port and the largest casks used in the whisky industry)

The first class is at 3pm-4.30pm and the second at 5pm-6.30pm. Only 11 seats at each.

Participation fee is $60 nett and must be prepaid (see link below).
