Bring On The Bling: Where to Get Quality Gold Jewellery in Singapore

They say all that glitters is not gold – except in this case, when gold jewellery is the trendiest accessory of 2021 since layering is in. Chunky chains, minimalist gold pendants, and bold gold asymmetrical earrings are in. Need a point in the right direction to get these fashionable pieces of jewellery? Here are some of the best places in Singapore to get good quality gold.

3125

Chunky Oval Chain: Necklace (S$35)

At first glance, local jewellery label 3125, leans towards bohemian-style pieces rather than the simply-layered gold jewellery we see now. But their collection of chain necklaces is a gold mine for, well, gold. Their chain necklaces are all minimalist in design – from thinner, flat-braided chains to chunkier ones. 3125’s variety means that these pieces are perfect for layering. And they’re long-lasting too, made from gold-plated stainless steel and sterling silver.

3125 online or at 420 North Bridge Road, #03-12 Singapore 188727. Open Monday to Saturday, 12pm – 6pm.

Gold Delphine Rhodochrosite Necklace (S$45)

We’re sure you’ve heard of this homegrown jewellery brand by now. By Invite Only boasts pretty pieces for those of us who have sensitive skin. This means that you won’t have to worry about any allergic reactions caused by jewellery alloys. Adorned with cubic zirconia and semi-precious stones, you can’t go wrong by wearing one of their lovely pieces. By Invite Only also specialises in gold vermeil jewellery, which is a thick-layered gold finish over sterling silver. They rank higher in quality and durability – without the hefty price tag.

Little India

Gold jewellery has religious importance in the Indian culture, so, it’s not surprising that there’s an abundance of real gold jewellery stores in Singapore’s Little India district. The neighbourhood is home to some of the longest-running gold jewellers in Singapore like Abiraame, a household name for elaborate gold pieces while Ishtara is the first to be awarded the World Diamond Mark. Prices can go pretty high depending on the piece, but they’re much more reasonable than what you’d pay at high-jewellery houses.

Eden + Elie

EDEN + ELIE Modern Peranakan Gold Charm Bracelet – Blue (S$173.42)

The brand’s ring line is especially well-designed. Chunky and abstract 18k gold-plated rings are set with white topaz designs. They’re great for mix and matching, and stacking on multiple fingers. Avyanna

Avyanna’s jewellery focuses mainly on earrings. Whether studs, huggies, or cuffs, Avyanna uses 9k yellow gold and diamonds in their pieces. Although you can definitely get a pair of earrings for everyday looks, Avyanna sells their earrings and charms in single quantities only (just as well asymmetrical earrings stacking is also a hugely popular trend this year). They might seem expensive at first for a single earring, but the pieces are priced around the same as some high-quality costume jewellery brands.

Bugis Street Market

If you’re on a budget, one of Singapore’s most popular street markets will have you covered. Littered with fast fashion and k-style accessories, if you look hard enough you might be able to find some hidden gems. A couple pairs of cute earrings and a necklace will be much cheaper here than it will anywhere else. But be warned that quality is not the best. Search for some gold stainless steel pieces that are both cheap but durable.

Bugis Street Market is located at 3 New Bugis Street, Singapore 188867. Open 12pm – 10pm daily.
