It’s that time again, MAAD is back, MAAD is back, tra la la la la (hmmm, now we sound a bit loony!)
For those that aren’t in the know…MAAD is the Market of Artists And Designers, a monthly Friday night melee of local creativity, originality and enterprise at the red dot design museum. Each month showcasing original artwork, design and craft, fashion, jewellery, even delicious food and beverages so you have sustenance for all that shopping; those marvellous folks at MAAD really have thought of everything!
This month City Nomads has partnered with MAAD a little bit more than usual by creating The Fashion Edition (we even designed this rather sexy poster!).
The idea was to celebrate all that everyone loves about MAAD, we certainly didn’t want to change a thing! But maybe just to mix it up a bit because we’re a bit naughty like that!. Those loyal vendors that already ticked the box in the fashion stakes will be returning along with some exciting new faces, but what has been really awesome is the non-fashion vendors who have pulled out all the stops and risen to the challenge specially for the night. We won’t spoil it for you, but there’s some cooooooool stuff!
With Audi Fashion Week and Blueprint only a couple of weeks away plus LaSalle’s Young Fashion Designer of The Year showcase coming up soon, it seemed the perfect time to celebrate and champion upcoming fashion faces on the Singapore scene, and as MAAD is a fantastic incubator of local talent, we figured it would be an awesome place to start.
For this installment of MAAD: the underbelly! we wanted to focus on all the vendors who are participating but with 63 confirmed partners, that’s quite a list! So instead, take a peek at what we have in store for you if you head down to MAAD this Friday.
In addition to the usual frivolity and merriment we have an exclusive from those charming boys from Carte Postale who will be revealing a brand new, unseen design on the night, as well as offering one lucky so-and-so the opportunity to win a pair of canvas shoes designed by Carte Postale.
On the music front, Minimal Simplicity will be rocking the house as usual, accompanied by guest DJ’s Karate Sandwich, and live music will be provided by I Hate This Place and Jonathan Meur.
As usual MAAD brings together great music, great people and warm cosy vibes so you’d be crazy to miss out!

MAAD – The Fashion Edition is happening on Friday 10 May, 5pm – midnight at red dot design museum, 28 Maxwell Road 069120 (alight at Tanjong Pagar MRT), free admission.
